Specs
• To better communicate their true size, we've started calling the three bigger tents the MoonLight 2+, 3+, & 4+
• Note that our tents come to you 100% ready to go: stakes and sacks, pole repair tube, even pre-attached guylines are included. The only thing we don't include is a footprint because we don't think people should be using them without deciding specifically to do so (we never use them ourselves).
Even our smallest tents easily and comfortably fit the number of people that the tent says it's made for. Our '+' models are pretty darned huge – they fit very tall and large people; like linebacker large. We believe that tent big enough to prevent your sleeping bag from swabbing the walls is a necessity, not a luxury.

The weight for comparing tents is the Minimum Weight. Since comparing tents is the main use for tent weights, manufacturer’s standardized on one way to do it that doesn’t penalize anyone for giving more stakes or guylines or owner’s manuals or any extras like that. It drives us manufacturer's crazy knowing that some people are thinking one tent is lighter than another (based on "Packed weight" or something like that) just because one has fewer (or flimsier) stakes, or thinner rubber bands and plastic bags in the packaging or no included pole repair tube, or…and so on. For a fuller discussion, see the Tent Weights page.
For the usual carry weight of our tents you add the Minimum weight + stakes weight (assuming you take all 12) + stuff sacks and so on. For example, on an ML2 that's 4 lb 12 oz + 6.6 oz + 3.5 oz = 5 lb 6.1 oz (the gross bag weight when new will be .5 ounces more than this because the poles are rubber banded in a plastic bag and have a little hangtag from the pole maker - all of which we expect you to leave at home).

* As a reference, the one tent in the car-camp market most generally similar to the MoonLight 4+ is almost 13 pounds. The most comparable tent in the ultralight backpacking world is about 6 pounds, but it uses nylon fabrics, is smaller, and has bare-bone features.
